3D product animation for D2C and marketplace brands

A 3D product animation is a film of your product built entirely in software. The product is modelled, lit and animated, so nothing is photographed. We make turntables, hero loops and feature reveals for product pages, marketplace listings and paid social, and deliver each one in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 in about 15 days.

Who it is for

When this is the right call.

The product is not manufactured yet

There is nothing to photograph. The model is built from artwork and specs, so the launch film can exist before the product does.

The listing sits still

On a marketplace grid, motion is what interrupts a scroll. A hero loop gives a static listing something its neighbours do not have.

Too many variants for a shoot

A new colourway, size or finish is a re-render of the same model, not another day in a studio.

One film, three placements

Reels, listing and product page each get a cut made for that placement, rather than one edit trimmed three ways.

What you get

What's included.

  • Hero loops for paid social and product pages
  • Turntables and 360° views for listings
  • Feature reveals that show a mechanism, not just a shape
  • Every ratio delivered: 9:16, 1:1, 16:9

How it runs

Four steps.

01

Model

Built from your artwork, dielines and specs, so the label, proportions and materials are right before anything moves.

02

Look

One still frame, lit and finished, sent for approval. Nothing is animated until you have signed off that look.

03

Move

Camera, motion and lighting directed shot by shot against the approved frame. The two included revisions happen here.

04

Cut

Delivered in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, each cut for the placement it is going into.

What we need from you.

  • The product, if it exists.
  • Artwork, dielines and specs.
  • Your brand assets.
  • Two or three references you like, so the direction is agreed before anything is built.

What you receive.

  • Masters in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9.
  • A cut for each placement, not one edit trimmed down.
  • The still frame you approved.

This service is often paired with CGI Animation and 3D Modeling.

Questions

Asked before every brief.

The answers below are the ones we give on a first call. The full list is here.

How long does a 3D product animation take?

About 15 days from start to delivery. The still frame comes early, so the direction is agreed before the animation is built.

How many revisions are included?

Two revisions are included. They happen at the build stage, against the look you already approved, which is what keeps them small.

Do you need the physical product?

Not always. The model is built from artwork, dielines and specs, which is how a product can be shown before it has been manufactured. If the product exists, it comes with the brief, along with your brand assets and references.

Which formats do I get?

9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, each cut for its placement: vertical for Reels and Shorts, square for feed, widescreen for product pages and listings.

What is the difference between this and a CGI film?

Scope. A product animation is a short film of the product itself: a turntable, a hero loop, a feature reveal. A CGI film builds scenes and environments around the product and runs longer, with a story. Both are rendered, not filmed.
